I wonder if someone could look up the baptism and or marriage of James Sutton - possibly born in 1802 and married to Suzannah (?pARTRIDGE) - in 1841 this family was living in New Canal St - which I think was near St. Martins. I would like to know who James father was if possi ble.
Thank you in advance,
Sheri

Re: james sutton

James Sutton married Susanna Partridge 30.7.1821 at Aston Juxsta, not sure anyone on here has the discs for that church, but you can view it on microfiche at Birmingham Library

There's these possibles

James Sutton born 25.10.1802 Christened Edgbaston to John and Sarah

James Sutton christened 2.4.1804 St Martins to William and Elizabeth...

His marraige is too early to show a father listed but you may get lucky in that a witness will be a sibling for him to help you find which is the right one.

Hi Claire-brum, thank you for your reply - I didn't have either of those births - I rather fancy the one at St, Martins as I have him living at New Canal St. which I think is near St.Martins?? I'm trying to confirm that he is the father of George Sutton my gt.gt.g.father b.1828.
So thank you for looking it has been a great help.

Re: james sutton

hi sheri, i have looked at the baptism which claire found at st. martins. there is no extra info at all

except that there was also a brother william christened on the same day :)

Re: james sutton

Thank you Shera - there was a younger brother, William b.?1834 so I'm pretty sure I've got the right family.
Cheers

remember that the baptism claire mentioned was 1802 so it was the generation previous to william 1834. it could be that the name was repeated in the family though :)

Re: james sutton

I will look into that Shera - they did use William a lot. Thank you very much.
