I have been stuck for years trying to find information on Thomas Stretton. According to Familysearch.org Thomas was born in Yardley 1801. I have not been able to find his parents or a baptism for Thomas.
I know that he married Margaret Daymond(sic) in Birmingham St. Martins by Banns on 20-10-1823. They had 9 children born in Birmingham before the family sailed to Australia. Thomas died in Adelaide in 1875 aged 75. I also can find nothing on his 3 eldest surviving children:
Thomas born 25-9-1824 bap.11-10-1824 St.Phillips, Emma bap 14-10-1827 Deritend Bordesley and Mary Jane born 28-9-1832 bap 14-10-1832. I have been unable to find them in Australia.
I know an Emma Stretton married Stephen Cooper in Aston Juxta 29-9-1846 not sure if the same. There are deaths for Emma Cooper in Brum 1886 and 1900.
There was a death of a Thomas Stretton in Brum 1846 and a marriage to Sarah Littleford on 28-8-1852.
Any information would be much appreciated
Thank You

the nearest i can find is there was a marriage of john stretton to elizabeth jarvis at st. martins on 15 nov 1797
and two christenings.... thomas son of john and elizabeth stretton born 8th july 1799 and jane daughter of john and elizabeth stretton born 31st july 1802. both christened at st. martins on 30 july 1804

the marriage of thomas stretton to margaret daymond had witnesses JOHN stretton and mary daymond

Thanks Shera, John and Elizabeth (nee Jarvis) are my picks for possible parents of Thomas. Hoping to find some reference in the baptism to Yardley. Both names John & Elizabeth are names recurring in my family. Would love to be able to nail it down.
