Streets lost under the Curzon Street New Station

Heartland

Looking at the maps of Birmingham there are several street that will be covered by the new station, these include:

Freeman Street
Paternoster Row
Park Street
Bartholomew Street
Banbury Street
New Canal Street.

How many will be retained as thoroughfares remains to be seen. This was an area of industry and residential properties, but I seen to recall that much was industry later on, The buildings were demolished some time ago. The dogs home was also there at one time.

Before the Railway extension was made into New Street, Bartholomew Street used to cross the course. When the railway was made, at some point in time, New Bartholomew Street became the other part of this street.
