In the Birmingham Journal on 26/9/I868 this list of street name changes was published. It was produced by comparing maps at different dates. May be useful reference info. Viv.

Been struggling to work out this name. Is it dock, deck, dick or duck ? Became New Inkleys, Viv.

In the Birmingham Post of 1870 a plan of Birmingham gives a Dock Alley.

It's Dock Alley, due west of St.Martin's, off Dudley Street
It has 13 houses & 51 inhabitants

It would be useful to have an updated list too. So many changes since 1825. To me I think it’s very helpful to see the changes in a simple list format. Viv.

Any ideas as to where Buckle Row was - seems to have disappeared by 1825. Was it somewhere in the (now) Jewellery Qtr ? Viv.

It is from the Bradford map of c1771.Must be very small as it only has 5 houses
