If at all possible, would someone kindly have a look for this marriage please..

James Sheldon + Susanna Rich 13th May 1799

Really need to know if Susanna was a widow + witnesses

Thankyou
Jackie

Hello Jackie have checked the records to make sure but sadly these early records are just a list of names with no other details. The information you have is all that is on the record. Sorry I could give you more information.

hello jackie and wendy, there is some extra info on that one, i think you must have missed it wendy :)

james sheldon of the parish of sutton coldfield (widower) and susannah rich of this parish (widow) married by banns 13th may 1799 witnesses thomas bird and elizabeth court

Thanks Shera I will have to have some lessons on using these records. It's a good job you know what you are doing!

Shera + Wendy
Thankyou so very much.
I did feel a little guilty asking for this look-up as I'd been given this info some time ago,but due to pc problems lost most of my research work, and just could'nt be 100% sure if Susanna was a widow. I'm returning to my Rich family research, must admit,I've
given up on it a few times, but perhaps this time I may get a little further (hopefully)

Again,thankyou
Jackie

i think this could be her first marriage also at st. martins

thomas rich of this parish bachelor and susanna jordan of this parish spinster 9 th feb 1792. witnesses were hannah and samuel cooke

That's another piece of info that was lost, besides my marbles!!
These are the baptisms of Thomas + Sus,Rich's children William 10 Dec 1792 + Susanna Rick (Rich) 28 July 1794.

My problem is trying to find a bapt.for my 3xg.grandfather Richard Rich c 1803 (birthdate fits with his death in 1849). I strongly believe he is a brother to Wlm + Sus. In the 1841 census there is only one Rich family living at Dudley(Richard)
Sus.(1794) + husband also live there. Wlm(1792) is living at Tipton -both Sus + Wlm state they were born at Birmingham in later census.

Now this is where I start going off normal track, I found a bapt.for a Richard Sheldon 1803 Aston Juxta-parents James +Susannah.

Richard was married in 1827 at Dudley (witnesses no help) both he + wife state not born in county 1841- In later census Ann states born Tipton Staffs.Am I reading too much into this?

Jackie

That's what I've been pondering about, but if so,why use surname Rich. I think this is something I'll never get to the bottom of!
