Great photos you are putting on , all of which I have never seen. however this one is on the corner of St lukes Rd and Vere St. St Lukes road did have a corner with Varna rd, but the Tavern was on the Vere St corner

hi mike...well i was hoping that at least some of these pics will be new to the forum as i have bought them from a private collection this i why i am posting them as the forum always needs fresh blood in the way of pics..once i have posted all the pubs i will when time permits be posting the ones i have of streets etc..thanks for correcting the location as the writting on the back is not always legible...

there was no never no pub in varna rd it was all big house with big bay windows with all the pros doing there bussinesses in the windows
if you ever seen that road day and night you would have thought there was a foot ball match going on it was like church lasne aston on a villa match hundreds of cars parked both sides of the rd and you could not see the pavements for men pranting up and down the road both side
and standing peering at all these women some exposing them selves and when the police turned up this rd it was very funny to watch as cars was scrambling to get out of the street the next street was alexander street which was not so bad for the red lights

you are correct at about st lukes street i used to work for divis roofing contractors and we had the contract from the bush house houseing departmet to do all that side of the city camp hil raven hurst street and al surrounding streets belgrave rd from one end to the other
