Hi all,
I am a member of this forum, and was wondering if any of you could help me. I was born at Marston Green Maternity Hospital 6th March 1957. I am hoping some of you will remember the nearest church to the hospital, and what it was called? The reason being I was wondering if it was still there, or if not if anyone might know where they would keep their birth records.
I hope someone on this forum can help me. Thank you for reading this.
Regards. Sharon.

All the births that I have found to be at Marston Green have been registered at Solihull. The register office is in Homer Road at the back of the Touchwood Centre - worth a try.

Hi Geofred

In 1957 Marston Green was in Warwickshire, and did not become
part part of Solihull MBC until much later (sometime in the 1980's I
believe). I wonder if the Warwickshire (or perhaps Meriden U.D.C)
records were transferred to Solihull, or did your searches perhaps
relate to the later period?

Kind regards

Dave

Sorry to have led you on a wild goose chase, you are quite right at that time the Marston Green births could well have been registered at Meriden U.D.C. I have one in 1953 that is a Meriden registation. I think that I must have had a 'senior moment' - I get a lot of those these days!!!! There is a church in Elmdon Lane, not that far from Berwicks Lane by the name of St. Leonards but there could well be one that is closer, but I only know bits of Marston Green. Happy Hunting, Susan.
