St Georges (Tower Street) can someone do a look up please or do I need to go to town?

Marriage Henry Brophy – Rose Whitehouse circa 1910 April (I’ve traced what looks like Henry was in Tower St at time of marriage.

Hi Ray.

Here they are in 1920 (if it helps) they are at 12 Defford Place, Clifford Street.

barrie.

By 1935 it looks like Henry has died. Rose is now shown with what looks like two sons.

I put this in the other thread as well by mistake (Nursery Road), have a question for you there.

Thanks Barrie I have Rose at 18 single living at 163 Clifford Street and then with Henry and later children in 12 Defford Place (169 Clifford Street) until 1941/5 and then the King family (daughter being Elsie Brophy) living there as I was until around late 60’s. Thus combined family were there for sometime and then we moved to lower part of Anglesey Street.

I would like to find the church, looked at St Pauls and St Silas parish records with no joy then thought Rose would have got married in Henry’s parish hence St George

Hi Ray.

In reply to your posting on the other thread. I never lived any closer than Gt Russell Street, which we left in 1939, and Berners Street which we left in 1943. In between times we were in Victoria Road, Erdington.

barrie, had more time this morning to have a look at the voting registers you kindly sourced, thanks again as it shows neighbours.

Could you give one for Defford Place sometime between 1945 - 1950 (12 Defford will show King) as from that the family maybe able to recognise some neighbours names we knew as kids?

Thanks

Ray

Please can anyone help!

When I began my family research a couple of years ago I came across the baptism of my 3x maternal grandmothers baptism record online. I wrote down some details but did not save the record:dft005:

I have no idea what site it was on and have never found it since but all the details matched at the time! I thought it was a scanned image of the original entry but cannot remember!:explode:

St Georges church
Eliza Johnson
baptised 3rd june 1855

I think Eliza was born 1853 and died 1907? after marrying for the second time to Edward Harper.

Her mother was Phoebe Robinson who married Thomas Johnson but have no dates for them. Perhaps someone could help with that too?

regards Lou
