Sister Bernard. She was head for a few years before she retired. My brother knew Canon Emery. Father /Monsineur Fallon was the priest I knew. My late mum was the lollipop lady at the school from the 60's into the 90's.

Your mom probably helped me cross the road then I lived in barker street till 1967 then moved to Melbourne avenue after st Francis went to Holte comp happy days

Probably. She used to get loads of grown ups coming up to her saying "Remember Me Miss" She'd have needed a superb memory to have remembered them all. What teachers did you have?

I think in st Francis sister Bernadette well was mostly nuns if I remember and a miss Hilton or Stilton memory not that good lol in Holte form teacher was mr Evan’s long time ago them nuns in st Francis were strict

Miss Hilton. My cousin got taught gymnastics by her. Yes the nuns. My worst nightmare. Horrible all of them.

I remember going to school with long trousers and he went crazy at me as should of been in grey shorts told me mom she marched up the school to see him she proppa ripped in to him he gave her the money to buy me 3 pairs shorts since that day he avoided me lol

I only ever saw him once many years later when I was an adult. I was so tempted to confront him but decided not to give him the satisfaction. I just blanked him.

If your on Facebook you should join the group Newtown lozells Handsworth there’s quite a lot of history on there about the area

For anyone who went to St. Francis and remember Miss (Eileen) Harte. She passed away on September 4th. I don't know what happened to her as I got the news second hand.
