St David's, Highgate

Can anyone help with a general query ? My ancestor (an unmarried mother) married a widower at St David's in 1870. She and the man she married were both born and lived in Herefordshire and after their marriage moved to Malvern in Worcestershire. Neither had any connection with Birmingham. I have wondered whether the choice of St. David's was significant or merely fortuitous. Any thoughts on this or info about St. David's most welcome !
