Soldier An Autobiography General Mike Jackson

Have just finished the Autobiography of Mike Jackson one of the leading soldiers of recent times who after
almost 45 years service finished up as Chief of the General Staff. During his three tours with the Paras he
was present at two of the most notorious incidents,"Bloody Sunday and also the massacre at Warrenpoint
which at that point saw the highest number of British soldiers killed in one incident since World War 2.
Jacksons success stems from his outstanding leadership matched by his forceful personality.
His men admired his professionlism, his directness, his honesty and his sense of humour. Without any
doubt whatsoever, my sort of Soldier. Bernard
