Smiths!!!

rowan

Born a Brummie
I am hoping that there maybe some descendants of the following.

Samuel Smith married Emly Rigby in 1891 this was after they had had all of their children!

Henry b. 1874 Aston.
William b. 1876. Aston.
Elizabeth b. 1882 Aston.
Emily b. 1884 Aston.
Albert b. 1886 Aston
Caroline b. 1890 Aston.
Gertrude b. 1890 Aston.
(these were twins and Gertrude is my maternal Grandmother)

I am sure there are some descendents of all the other childen :)

Thank you for reading this.:beam:

Hi there, have you seen the 1911 census for this family?
In case you haven't, Caroline (20) is single and a machinist at a carbon works,Gertrude (20) is single and a button worker, and Albert (24) is a labourer in a bedstead works.(all born Aston)
Emily (62) born Coventry,is a widow, stating she has been married for 40 years!.She also states on the form that she had a total of 6 children,2 of whom have died.
They are all living at 47 Manor Rd Aston. Emily did not sign the form, but made her mark.

Thank you so much for repling Ladylinda. I haven't seen the 1911 census so I am grateful to you.

40 years indeed!!
I was told she was living with a HENRY GOODE in the 1901 census!!

As we can see she had 7 children living so maybe she lost others in between and as she couldn't write maybe she couldn't count!! or may be 2 had died as they got older.

I don't know anything about her other than she was born in Coventry (Father believed to be John Rigby) and she had the children named.
I don't know where or when she died.

I believe Samuel died (1892) not long after they married, maybe they knew he was going to die and she didn't want to be a "single mother"

Thank you again for your help :)
