Smiths Edward

Brummie Once Removed
Hello everyone,
Am still struggling with my Great Grandfather Edward Smith who was born in 'Birmingham in 1839. I know now that his father was called Samuel Smith and he was an Auctioneer. I also know that Samuel Smith's father was also called Samuel and he was born in born on 22nd June 1791 at St. George the Martyr, Southwark. To ease confusion they are now referred to as Samuel the Elder and Samuel the younger. I also know that Samuel's (the Younger) first wife (Edwards mother) died and he remarried Mara Hatton in 1845 (I have a copy of their wedding certificate).
Have failed miserably so far to find the missing mother's name so would appreciate any help.
Just to add some interest, amongst a lot of old documents I did find the attached very old and battered small picture which I believe is 'Lucy Smith', Edward's Daughter (born 1868) and my Grandmother.
Thanks for looking
Bob
