Smith Family - Kings Heath - 1930's

Hi all

I am trying to locate a family of Smiths that lived in Kings Heath during the 1930s. I believe that the family had a garage on Vicarage Road and had a car which was unusual for the area at that time. Does anyone recall them or know anything about them? Smith is the name we have been given but we are not 100% sure the information is correct so if you know of a family who owned a garage in Vicarage Road in the late 1930s, had at least one son who I believe was in the RAF at the time then I would love to hear from you. Again if this sounds like a family you remember or knew or is part of your family tree but the surname is different then I would still like to hear from you. Tracing Smith's is tricky especially when you are not 100% sure the info is correct!! Sorry this is all a bit vague but any information would be helpful.

Thanks & fingers crossed someone might be able to help.

Hi Colin

Thanks for your response.

You did do some research before for me which was helpful so thank you for that but so far we have drawn a blank. The fact that the name is Smith is definitely not making things easy!! We thought the next step might be to see if any had changed hands between 1939 and 1945 as we have been told the family moved so that might narrow it down if the Smith information that we have is in fact correct. Moving on from that we are thinking that if Smith is actually a false lead but the garage in Vicarage Road is correct then it would be interesting to know what other garages operated in that road at the same time under different names. Its a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack at the moment!

Thanks
