This person was my great grandmother and the family legend goes that she was born January 3, 1871 in the Bull Ring area of Birmingham. By the time she was 20 she had arrived in Rye, Sussex and was married. The family tell of the mother and Annie walking from Birmingham south to find work. I have nothing else to go on and looking for a Smith anywhere is a challenge, so I throw out this snippet of information hoping that it may ring some bell........
