Small Heath Tavern The Wrexham

Michael_Ingram

gone but not forgotten
Where's this then? The front of the tram reads "Smallheath Park to Station Street", so its betweeh Smallheath and New Street Station. We are looking at the tram from the back so it is going down a slight hill. Could it be Coventry Road?

Michael .... it looks like to me that the photo was taken from Green Lane
looking towards The Tilt Hammer , The Greenway pub ,and the Birmingham City Football Ground .
Ragga :)

I've got the same picture in a book and it states" Coventry Rd looking north to Herbert Rd, Small heath Tavern on the right was later renamed The Wrexham. c 1910. ;)

The location of the tram heading into the city centre along the Small Heath (Victoria) Park to Station Street route is the bend of the Coventry Road opposite to what was then called "Small Heath Tavern" the pub was later renamed as "The Wrexham". Len.
