Small heath 1950s/60s

Hi it's my dads 80th soon and he grew up in small heath on myntz street *his family had the hardware style shop on the corner of muntz street( I'm after photos of nostalgic places for him s6ch as Marlborough road school. Masons grocery. Fish and chip shop in muntz street and anything in that area un thar period
Also is there a map of the area fir that period I could get? Any small heath specific books? Thsnjs v much

looking at the map 169 is one away from the corner with grange road...

Hi all,
Anyone with memories of shops late fifties to the early seventies, in Muntz St and The Cov - Small Heath?
Some names from me; Muntz St - Charlies(greengrocers/poultry) Birches(sweet shop) Wool shop(corner of wright St) Library (believe closed very early sixties) Can't remember names of others - butchers, small grocers, newsagents and another sweet shop.
The Cov - Rowbottoms, Laceys Photographers(my mom worked there for a while) Brierleys, McGauleys, Maturi's, The Dairy also Jones and Sturdeys - bingo hall!

Old Small Heath by John Bick is an excellent book which has very many photographs unseen on this site. The following give a real taste:
Coventry Rd with Whitemore off to the left
Green lane with Hobmoor Rd to the left & Blake Lane to the right
Green Lane looking east
