Another modern building, I'd rather have the Queen's head, but it looks better then the derelict buildings that was there. Oh, I nearly had an accident the other day, looking at that thing on the Island.

Yes, Frothblower, I took the photos from the top of the 110 on my way back from a day out in Brum, I'm lucky enough never to have been a motorist, and I'm much too old to learn.

Does anyone know of a photographers in Erdington only mom took a load of old photo's in to be duplicated became ill and died not long after. It is such a shame that they have gone out of the family. Jean.

Thanks for posting the photos of the new building on the corner of Reservoir Road and Sutton New Road and of the Island. Now let's see. re the new building which I assume are apartments and shops underneath when leased. It's an ok building but the wooden slats on the fascia for decoration are very tatty in my opinion and do not do much for the building. I do like the rounded shape and the way it fits the corner site. I have good memories of the previous gabled building for several years and I know it changed hands a few times. The Queen's Head was a place I went into a few times and attended my best friends wedding reception there.

The Island looks very good planted out. Not sure what the "tilted box" is all about.
Anyone know? How long as it been there? The Island has undergone many changes over the years. My first recollection of it was before it was actually an island and was a tram stop.

Thanks again Astonite, great photos from the top of a bus.

Thanks for the heads up on the Tesco Express, Mrs. T. I am sure it will be
popular if they have enough parking spaces.

I used to work in the shop thats a flower shop now, next to the estate agents.it was a greengrocers when i worked there in the early 90s.

nice photo i used to drive midland red buses through there in the 1950s and 60s it has not changed much buses and car have lol

"Heads up" is information, news, something to take note of. Sort of 'Pay attention at the back!'
"Thanks for the heads up" = thanks for the information, latest details, etc.
