Not sure if this is the right place to post.

I have a will from 1803, that mentions Sign of the Angel on Lichfield Street, Birmingham. Can anyone let me know how I can find out if this was a pub?

Makes only one reference to a pub called the "Angel", Litchfield St in 1802.The victualler is Samuel Standley and his bondsman is Edward Collins.

The bondsman stood surety for the licensed victualler, to ensure that good behaviour was maintained. The residence and details of the bondsman is given in the record. Many victuallers, stood as bondsmen for each other so the majority of bondsmen will appear in the victualler surname index too.
