My family are Shuttleworth’s and lived on bridge street west and went to farm st school but I can’t for the life of me find out which secondary school my uncle Barrie Charles Shuttleworth went to ? He was born 1948 , can anyone let me know what was in the area
cant be certain of course but i would put money on it that your uncle attended harry lucas school which backed onto bridge st west..i am saying harry lucas as it was formally called burbury st school but by the time your uncle would have gone into seniors i think it had changed names to harry lucas..the other one he could have attended was icknield st school just a short walk from bsw which converted into a secondary school in 1948 and that one is still standing...on the other hand if he was lucky enough to qualify he could have gone to a grammar school...all the best
