Rutland Arms 281 Heath Street

Hi all, I've recently discovered that my Great Grandfather was publican at the Rutland Arms in Heath Street and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the pub or has any old photos of it at all? My searches on Google have drawn a blank. Thanks in advance, Sharon

This photo was on the Forum as part of a quiz, perhaps www.midlandspubs.co.uk could show the original photo? But should give you an idea

Thanks very much Rob, much appreciated. It's nice to see where my Great Grandfather lived and worked. I will find this website very interesting and useful.

I have a bit of a mystery I would like some help with. According to the 1901 census, my grandfather living at281 Heath Street, Rutland Arms. His occupation was publican. I can find no reference to a pub called The Rutland Arms or any old photos of Heath Street. Can anybody help.

Welcome to the forum.
Try putting "heath street" in the search box top right (include the " marks) and tick "search titles only box". Several references to Heath Street come up including one about the Rutland Arms

BrumBoy 707 has asked me to upload this screen shot from Kieron's midlandspubs site as the link is no longer working. I can't find Heath Street on the pubs site so if Kieron sees this maybe he can post a working link.1906 Rutland Arms.jpg
