As a child in Tasmania I was suffered quite badly from bronchial asthma. I had various treatments, but one I remember very well came from an old German doctor my mother was recommended to take me to. She was told to make up a concoction consisting of overproof rum, brown sugar, whole egg (including the shell ground up) and cod liver oil. I was to take a tablespoon a day. It was foul stuff - burnt my throat horribly. Perhaps that's what started my liking for a tipple.

HOW IS YOU PENCHANT FOR SUCH PROGRESSED?
OFF OF THE RUM ITEM, HOW DO YOU RATE WHISKEY AND BRANDY - BY TYPE?
I UNDERSTAND IT IS A LIFELONG STUDIES?
YOU CAN ENGAGE IN THE CULINARY.
I'VE EVERY CONFIDENCE TASMANIA HAS PLENTIFUL RAW HONEY.
I'VE FOUND MARMALADE [THICK CUT] DONE WITH LIQUEUR SUCH AS DRAMBUIE QUITE TICKETYBOO.
IT CAN BE ADMINISTERED ON MULTI GRAIN NATURAL TOAST SLICES TO THE DAFT SUCH IS SO AS TO BE ADEQUATELY DESCRIBED BY A RURAL VETERINARIAN AS OBTUSE TO THE EXTENT OF INCREDULITY.
OR AS THE CARD SHARP EXPOSTULATED ATER HIS SLUG WHILE CONTEMPLATING THE LOUNGE:
"WULL WHAT OI NEVR WUDA CEPT WHAT THATS WHAT EM MONNIEY PEOPLES DOES WHEN THEYZ SICKLY."
let's bear in kind the immiserate kinder outside the tavern and he and his drunk spouse bashing 'em.

Tasmania's honey is quite unqiue. Leatherwood - and it is endangered because of the denuding of our forests and the habitat of the bees.
