Hi everyone
Can anyone help in finding who the woman is in a marriage certificate I have for the marriage of a Clara Jane Medding and Alfred Walter.
The name of one of the witnesses is given as Ruby May Randoll but I think that this may be Randel.
The wedding was in 1925.
In a photo I have there is an elderly woman, about 70, who may be her.
The wedding took place at the Registry Office in Birmingham. Alfred Walter gives his address as Grange Road Kings Heath and his occupation as Grocer.

Ruby May Randoll lived at 5 Kenilworh Rd,Handsworth together with,James Douglas Randoll and John and Prudence Gilks from at least 1920 to about 1935.(info from Electoral Rolls)
Alfred Charles Walter lived at 85 Grange Rd,Kings Heath.

As an aside Ruby was Ruby May Gilks before she married,in West Brom in 1922.She was born in 1890,so I really hope the 70 year old in the photo wasn't her!:D
(John and Prudence Gilks were her parents.)

Wow!!!! What a faux pas I made of that one. I was convinced that the elderly lady in the photo was Ruby.
There are two other girls in the picture. Ruby must be one of them, but they look to be about in their early twenties.
Just shows how you ladies can cover up your apparent ages!!!!!
