I've just come across a certificate that shows one of my family living at the Royal George Hotel, Tower Road, Aston (1936). I can't find any trace of this - does anyone have any clues?
Not listed in Kellys as such and no hotels listed as hotels. I thought it could be an unnamed (in Kellys) beerhouse, but the only unnamed beer retailers in Tower St, at that time, were at 93 and 186, Both , at an earlier date at least (1911 for 186 and 1901 for 93) were just off licences according to the census
Thanks Mikejee. It's on a marriage certificate as the residence and her profession is barmaid. Could these mean that her father owned / managed it? He is shown as deceased and a coal hewer (below ground)
Thanks
