Rose Tube Company

Hello
I'm new to forums, this is my first post so i hope i am in the right place, and need as much help as possible.
I am looking for information about the ROSE TUBE COMPANY. Going by addresses in family, it may have been in Perry Barr area, but this is a complete guess. I believe it was still going around 1920's. Hope someone can help.:uncomfortableness:

I cannot find it in directories of the period, but it may be listed under another name. A court case in the worcester journal of 1896 below would imply that it had a place in Halesowen. It seems to have had financial problems around 1900 and various solutuions seem to have been suggested., but unfortunately the newspaper archive i use does not go past 1900, and the reports of meetings do not seem to say where the factory was. the firm is mentioned very briefly in graces guide at https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Baron_Rose

In the 1870 Directory for Halesowen there are
Rose Brothers gun Barrel Manufactures Halesowen forge,
Rose William Henry spade and shovel manufactr Birmingham Street,

In the 1873 directory there are
Rose Bros gun barrel and steel tool manufactures Halesowen mills and forge Bromsgrove St
Rose George and John Aaron (bros) home Birch Hill,
Rose Major and William (bros) home The Mount.
Rose Moses (Bros) home Birmingham Road,
Rose Wm HY Spade and Shovel manfr, Birmingham St,

There's a reference to this company, in Halesowen, printed in The London Gazzette in 1906 - HERE (pdf file)

thanks for all the replies, i shall be looking into the info some more, the news paper clipping looks promising, and i do have a Moses on my tree.

A 1901 census entry.

Stourbridge Road , Halesowen
Benjamin W rose age 46 born Rowley Tube manufacturer, Employer
Emily 43
Emily 18
Major 14.

This appears to be your man Telford Girl because in the article in the Gazette, that Curly gave you a reference to, the assets of the
Rose Tube company include Birchill house it is amongst the property to be sold but obviously Benjamin must have been able to save it
somehow because he and his family are living there in 1911, Birchills house, Mucklows Hill.

Benjamin Woodhouse Rose birth registered 1855 Dudley
son of Major Rose and Sarah Jane Woodhouse married 1854 birmingham.
I was interested to see the name of 3 of his siblings Major General Rose 1858,Baron Rose 1863,and Captain Rose 1865.
In 1901 Major General Rose lists himself as a retired Tube maker living in Stourbridge road
Baron is a Gun Barrel and tube maker living at The mount
Captain died in 1899.

In 1899 Captain Rose is the landlord of the Red Lion, Quinton. Haven't looked any further as not sure if you had info, or if it was of interest

Hello everyone that has been so kind to find all this info for me , I can't find any reference to the family but a lot of the names run through my tree, i think this must be another branch. but i am also wondering now in my Charles Edwin Rose may have bought the company after 1906 when the company was sold.

I know it's many years later but I have photos of these people in my family album. From the late 19th and early 20th century
