Rose & Crown Pub Hingeston St

Hi
My parents ran the Rose and Crown about 1950 for three or four years. They were Fred and Lill Cross my name is Diane and my sister is Barbara she is five yeads older than me - My dads brother Les Cross was married to Lillie Myatt and lived in the hardwear shop also in Hingeston St. I remember going to Camden St School, also the Red Rec and I had a friend Raymond Crisp he had a sister I think her name was Janet they lived opposite the pub.
Because I was not very old and cannot remember very much about the time we lived there, would love to know if the pub still stands and if anyone remembers my parents.
Thanks Di

I remember the 'Hen and Chickens' pub. Wasn't it on the main road on the way to Wolverhampton. The crossroads it was on went off to Oldbury...is that the one you are thinking od Paul?

hi mags
yes you are right, it was on the main wolverhampton road, remember the crooked house and kinver caves, how about the white swan at yardley "the dirty duck" to us lads, great times there though.
regards
paul

Paul, I don't remember some of the pub's you mentioned, most of my crazy day's were spent at the ice rink etc., I do remember the Rose & Crown,Hingeston St. I lived in Moreton St, which was just off Carver St. I did however, go to the 'Hen and Chickens' on several occasions.

I am sure someone asked for the image of this pub a few months back?

Oh, sorry, the pub was demolished in the early 70s methinks?

I think it is just landscaped & greened over where the pub stood.
