i always looked forward to going to town with my mom
she would buy for saturday dinner chicklins we would take them home where she cooked them and made us scollops they were great ( couldnt eat them now )
we would go to the indoor market and get some cockles which i still like today.
then across to lewis,s for our brocken biscuits and butter that was a good morning out
sunday dinner would be a roast or stew in the bad weather with dumplings then for tea sandwiches followed by one of moms home made fruit cakes
