I am trying to find out some information on Rex Ward Athey and in particular to see if he had any connection with the Bartley Green, Woodgate, California, Moor Street area. CWGC records place his parents in Birmingham and Rex is mentioned in Birmingham Roll of Honour for WW2.

From what I know he was killed on 11th June 1944 whilst serving with 7th Squadron RAF, and was probably the navigator of a Lancaster bomber. His service number was 1575432.

He was the son of Reginald and Alice Athey (nee Ward) and born c. 1921.
