Reunion Burlington/upper Thomas Street Schools

AS IT IS ONLY JUST OVER A MONTH AWAY I THOUGHT I HAD BETTER LET YOU KNOW THE DETAILS FOR THIS YEAR.

THE REUNION WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY. 7TH JULY 2008 AT THE BARN SOCIAL CLUB, BROOKVALE ROAD, OPPOSITE WITTON CEMETERY. TIME FROM 7p.m. UNTIL LATE IN THE GROUND FLOOR CABARET ROOM. THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF £1.00 PER HEAD TO COVER THE COST OF THE ROOM HIRE. ALL AGE GROUPS WELCOME.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING OLD FRIENDS AGAIN.
 
hi sylvia. hope you enjoy your reunion. (at least you will get a drink there) unlike the bull ha ha. i used to go to lozells girls school but had to trek to burlington school as we had to do cookery pottery and needle work there. one of the days i will have to try and organise a get together for lozells girls. wales
 
Wales, thanks for your nice message, we have been having Reunions for 26 years now, and we always get a good turnout, some members of the Forum went to the schools, and others asked if they could join us, and they enjoy it too, whatever school we went to our backgrounds are much the same. Strange you went to Burlington Street - the Special School I think for your domestic training, and we went to Albert Road School for cookery lessons - laundry and ironing. Although I know some of the older girls earlier than my age group, used to go over to the Special School to do household chores.
 
Hi Sylvia.....I cannot make it this year....I am unable to book the night off from work due to others having holidays and sickness....its a pity you don't hold them on the nearest Saturday/Sunday to the 7th...anyway hope it goes okay.....John
 
John, sorry to hear you can't make the Reunion this year, we always hold it on the 7th July, as it sticks in people's mind, and it is diffcult to notify everyone if we change the date.
