Charles Reeves (b. 1811, d. mid-1880s) was a sword manufacturer who became one of Birmingham's largest arms manufacturers in the 1850s and 1860s. His firm employed some 400 men at the Toledo Works until running into financial problems in about 1869. I am trying to find out more about him (I believe that he was a 1st cousin, 4x removed). I have him in the 1881 census living in Kings Norton and his widow Lydia in 1891 living in Droitwich. There are two deaths in FreeBMD that could be his, both in 1886. He seems to have been sufficiently prominent that his passing may have warranted an obituary or other mention in the papers. I would be grateful if someone having access to the on-line archives of the Birmingham Post or other relevant sources could have a look
