Rankel / Rankle / Wrankle, James bn 1801 St Martins, Birmingham

Can anyone help me please with a huge brick wall I have in my tree? I am trying to dis/prove a family story that our Rankles descended from an Army General from Prussia.

The furthest I can take my tree back is to James Rankle baptised 26/10/1801 in St Martins, Birmingham. Parents James and Hannah (nee Clarkson) who married 22/06/1801 in Aston Juxta. Hannah remarried a John Hunt in Oct 1809 at St Martins, with her surname spelt Wrankle.

I have record of, but cannot tally up to my tree (but I'm sure they are related somehow) :

James Rankel buried 29/04/1800 in St Phillips, Birmingham
James Rankel buried 01/11/1801 in St Phillips, Birmingham

Does anyone have any suggestions of where I can look ?

Any suggestions gratefully received Thank you in advance

The first one was buried in 1800 - I am sure you know that but just in case anyone else is looking. Register just has his name so not very helpful.
also found a baptism t St Martins for a James Rankle 26 October 1801 (wonder if this is the one buried a few days later) - son of James and Hannah.

Thank you - yes sorry it was a typo.

The James Rankle baptised 26/10/1801 is my 4x great grandfather and so wasn't buried a few days later. He went on to marry Ann Yeates/Yates in Dudley and sparked off 90% of the population of Rankles in England at that time LOL

My current thinking is that James Rankle baptised 26/10/1801 was the son of James Rankal who married Hannah Clarkson in Aston Juxta on 22/06/1800 then was buried as James Rankel 01/11/1801 who in turn was the son of James Rankel buried in 1800.

Hannah Wrankle then marries John Hunt in St Martins in 1809.

The changes in name spelling don't help!

But it's the official linking of that that I can't figure out. They also seem to appear out of nowhere in Birmingham at this time :(
