Rail House Broad Street / Stanier House

Sam65

knowlegable brummie
Anyone worked at Rail House and Stanier House from 1972 to 1977?

Names spring to mind George Hassall, Jack Mayo, Roger Hopes, Arthur Goburn, worked as clerical officers

I didn't work there at the Broad Street Divisonal office or Stanier House but visited from the Regional (Operations) Office at Crewe. The only names I can remember are Jimmy James and Ron Hartshorn (Broad Street) and Reg Pugh, Gordon Jaques and Alison Thompson (Stanier House). I visited all seven Divisonal offices in turn and always looked forward particulaly to my visits to Broad Street - a very friendly, amusing and helpful bunch of lads. I think I have a photograph with Ron on (and someone who came with him) to a residential course at Webb House in Crewe in the 70s - I'll see if I can find it.
Best wishes to all for 2025
Fond memories of Snow Hill of course (who wouldn't have ).

My dad worked at Rail House as a freight controller after they were moved out of their old offices on New Street Station when it was rebuilt in the 1960s.
