Hi,
I am new to the list and posting my interests. My ggg grandfather was Charles QUINTON born in 1837 in Hockley, Birmingham. I believe his father was called Edward. On the 1841 census Charles (age 4) and george (age 6) are in Alcester Workshouse. No sign of any parents. In 1863 he married Sarah BAGLEY. One of their children was another Charles, born 1865 and he married Emily Ann PAYNE in 1890. Their son ChristopherThomas QUINTON was my grandad. He left Birmingham to join up in 1914 and was in hospital in Leeds for a few years before he married my grandmother. I don't think he ever went back to Brum but I know he had family there. Any connections anyone.
