Query re. electoral rolls.

Brock

master brummie
I have seen the electoral register books which are held in the Birmingham Central Library but they are only searchable by address. Does anyone know if it is possible to search the electoral registers by the name of the person instead?

Thank you,
Brock.

Gosh, what a speedy reply -- Thank you so much.

The person who I am trying to search for was named Ronald Jones & I believe that he lived in the Yardley area of Birmingham during the 1950's onwards.
His wife was possibly named Beryl and a possible daughter was named Jennifer.
It's also thought that he left his family around 1969 so he could well be listed away from his wife & children after then.

I am very grateful to you for your reply & offer of help. Could you possibly tell me how to search by name for future reference please.

With many thanks,
Brock.

i subscribe to midlands historical data which lets you search directories and electoral rolls. my only problem now ive offered to help is that the electoral rolls online only go up to 1945 so i dont think it will be any good to you :(

the years that are searchable are 1912 to 1945

in 1945 there is a ronald jones at 83 vibart rd yardley if this is any help, but no beryl with him then. there are quite a few ronald jones but thats the only one in yardley.

in the 1956 kellys directory there are the following ronald jones

ronald f l jones 15 landgate rd.
ronald j jones 137 woodlands park rd.
ronald m jones 45 calverley rd kings norton
ronald t jones 9 craythorne ave.
ronald t jones 72 peplins way
ronald w jones 32 westbury road
