Not much help, but i think it was between 1921 and 1935. I suspect that the building on direct left which can be partially seen (no 38) is occupied by Raleigh Cycle Co Ltd, who were not there in 1921 or 1936, but were there 1932-33 and for sometime before. Queens College chambers, which succeeded the building in the photograph, seem to have been built in the late20s-early 30s

Queens College once housed a museum. It was 'new' in 1856 when this image appeared in the London Illustrated London News. I first thought it must have housed just small specimens, but no. It had a giraffe, hippopotamus and rhinosaurous as well as smaller species. Many of these ended up at Aston Hall, they were moved there in the 1870s. The 18ft giraffe had to have the supports and stuffing in its legs removed so they could be folded for transportation ! Apparently many of the species were in a very poor condition when they arrived at the Hall. Viv.
