Hi All,
My Names Dan - Current Landlord For The New Inn - Summer Road B23 (7 Years) & The Safe Harbour - Moor Lane B6 (2 Years).
I've Seen Previous Posts Regarding The Safe Harbour, Moor Lane B6 7AE And I'm Looking For Any Photos, Letters Invitations, News Posts Or Articles Regarding To The Safe Harbour But Using The Name ''The Diggers Or The Diggers Arms'' As Previously Site In 1800's Was The ''Witton Hotel'' - For Which Then Change The Name To ''The Diggers Arms'' Under Ansell's Brewery, Then Punch Taverns Change The Name To ''The Safe Harbour'', Locally Known As The Diggers'' I'm Currently In Process Of Changing The Sites Name The Some Similar To ''The Diggers or The Diggers Inn'' However I'm Been Asked By Design Team Doing Such Refurbishment That I Need Some Kind Of Evidence Or Pub That The Site Has Historical Connection To The Name ''The Diggers'' And Not Just Because Its Faces Witton Cemetery.

Any Help Will Be Grateful.

One of our members, now sadly deceased, (post 1475 at https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/for...-post-150-years-ago.39848/page-74#post-524330) states that it was referred to as The Grave diggers Arms, though this might mean that this was just an unofficial name. Several members in the thread https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/forum/index.php?threads/safe-harbour.30278/ say similar, as does post 12 on https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/for...or-lane-by-witton-cemetery.17192/#post-287935. But these might all be merely referring to a nickname, rather than the official name

yes mike when i worked in moor lane early 70s its nic name was the grave diggers arms and as far as i know that was due to its location...stand to be corrected though
