From 1855 till 1933 no 7 allcock street was usually listed in directories as a beer retailer, which could mean either a pub (but possibly only with a beer licence) or premises serving for off licence sales only. However on two occasions it is described as a beerhouse, and so it was probably a pub for all that time. From 1937 it was lsited as refreshment rooms. The 1901 census shows that no 7 was known as the Beehive tavern. It would have been on the southern side of the street about halfway between Heath Mill lane and the viaduct.
