Pub Landlords Arthur BUTLER and John BECK(S) 1930's and 40's

Royston

knowlegable brummie
Family connection with JOYCE J DAVIS who is reputedly to have married pub landlords.

Can anyone recall pub landlords by the name of ARTHUR BUTLER or JOHN BECK(S)
during the nineteen thirties and forties and within the Birmingham area
Both were born around 1906/1908 so would have been in their thirties and early forties at this tine

Any help in identifying the pubs they ran would be appreciated

Regards R0Y

there are so many arthur butlers on the electoral rolls but thought i would just tell you this one for 1945 - Arthur Butler is listed at Swanpool Hotel, Lichfield Rd. , with Doris Butler. ( just in case that is a pub.)

also there is a arthur leslie butler with joyce jessica butler in 1935 at 39 oldknow rd. sparkbrook. also, vera alice wood is living with them.

none of these may be any good but ive also found

jack m. a. becks and joyce j. becks at 44/45 bull st. edgbaston in 1950. also living there is albert g. reeves..
the next entry on the page is for no. 73 bull st. The Lamp. and living there is robert and ellen cureton, cornelius kelly and margaret hannon.

sorry if none of these is any good!

Following Shera's lead, , from 1943- 1946 The Swanpool tavern (definitely seems to be a pub ) at 305 Lichfield rd was run by arthur edgar butler. He was not there 1940 or 1949
