Pub identification request

Hello all; first post on this forum, hope someone can help. A friend of mine who doesn't have internet access is desperate to find out the name of a pub which was bombed into non-existence during WW2. It was located on the corner of Montgomery Street and White Road in Sparkbrook. He recalls workers from the BSA factory nearby having lunch in the canteen of a school on nearby Grace Road. It would mean the world to him if anybody could remind him what the name of the pub was; perhaps someone reading this might also be able to provide a photograph. I'd really appreciate your help. Cheers! :)

PS: I am also posting this message in the WW2 section of the forum.

I can see that quite a few of you have looked at this message but haven't been able to help. However, I posted the same message in the World War Two section of the forum in the Blitz subsection, and a number of people have contributed some interesting information regarding my query. If you found my query interesting, you might also be interested in their replies! Cheers, J.

Tried that when jonathon asked on the other thread. No name in any of the directories available. also not named in the earlier censuses, just called beer retailer or beerhouse
