Problems with Ancestry??

skylark

Proud to be a Brummie !!
I am becoming rather tired with Ancestry over the last few days!! I am constantly being asked to Register - even though my subscription is up to date - then I have to wait for a" number" to appear in my inbox which I then send back to them. I have "spoken" to their AI chap... back to normal for a couple of days then it goes back to asking me to rejoin etc... is anyone else having this problem? Skylark.

Have you recently changed the machine you use to access Ancestry.? Some sites seem to be suspicious if a new machine suddenly starts accessing their site

No changes at all - they keep asking me to sign in using Google or Apple (never had to do that before) it has always been straightforward before.

Ancestry website doesn't appear to be running smoothly for some members, with a few glitches here and there recently and from time to time.

When I went to my Ancestry messages a few days ago it was showing that the messages were all from "unknown" - however it did later rectify itself.

I understand Ancestry may be carrying out ?updates/new features so possibly this may affect the usual working of the website.

Thank you for that info William - I had only a short time when "things" went back to normal - then once again I have had no access to anything at all on Ancestry for over 24 hours - still unavailable this morning! Skylark.

Are you using the app or trying to log on to the website through your browser.

I personally never use the app as it does not appear to work quite as well as the website.

When signing in to Ancestry there is an option to tick (when they send you a passcode) to ?save (sorry I cannot remember exactly the precise details) but it means that when you sign in in future, you don't need to verify with a passcode, you just type in your user name and password.
