in memory of my great uncle frederick barnes
my uncle who was orphaned, was sent to canada from barnardos, ( i don't think he wanted to to be shipped off to canada but thats another story) where he was set to work on a farm, he volenteered to join the army aged 21, he was one of the little black devils regiment,
he was sent to france, where you can only imagine what they went through, sadly he was killed three months before the war ended aged just 24, its brave men like him who saved us from tyrany, and helped shape the world today,

THANKS TO YOU AND ALL OTHER PEOPLE LIKE YOU FOR YOUR SACRIFICE
YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

RIP

Jake, Why I queried what you said, he is on the CWWG site as KIA on the 23rd July 1918 and his regiment as the Manitoba Regiment now if this info is wrong it can be changed
Fredrick Barnes was in the 8th Battalion which was in 1914 raised from 90th Regiment (Winnipeg Rifles)
Were did you get his date of death from ?

So that means the date on the Memorial is wrong and needs changing
