I am asking about this pub on behalf of a distant relative. His grandfather, Thomas Bradley, was the brother of my grandfather, William Bradley. He remembers his mother saying that she sat on a stone window ledge outside The Prince of Wales, when she was a small girl, and that her father, Thomas Bradley managed the pub. His mother was born in 1911. So can anybody find a reference to Thomas Bradley managing this pub sometime after 1911? I've looked at some Kelly's, but can't find anything.

Ann

sorry ann no details ...but it was a pub I frequented...used to play in darts team '70s there it aint half changed for the better I might add:)

Hi Ann

In Kelly's 1913 It is listed as no 84 Arthur Poulton beer retailer.
in 1937 it is listed as 84 The Price of Wales PH Fredrick Shotton.

I would imagine you will find him between those years, In the meantime a photo taken some years back and a more recent one.

Can you see that little tot all on its own outside the pub on the old photo. It doesn't brear thinking about today.

Phil

84 Cambridge St.
1921 Ernest Parsons
1932 Carl Frederick Skipp
1933 Thomas Rose
1940- 1944 Prince of Wales Mrs Polly Packwood
1949 Prince of Wales Benjamin jones

But in 1913 there was a Thomas Bradley, beer retailer at 15 Pershore St (no mention in 1912). In 1921 he was at The Barrell Inn, 322 Summer Lane . In 1932,and afterwards he is missing unless he’s changed his occupation.

Narrows it down a bit anyway

Yes, it does narrow it down Mike, thank you. I'll pass on the information and photos that you and Phil have given me. I will get up to the library again sometime. I need to check then between 1914 and 1921. And possibly just after 1921.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate all the help.

Phil,

I emailed your photos of The Prince of Wales to my relative. And he has mailed me back this morning to say how thrilled he was to receive them. He also asked me to pass on his thanks. So thank you Phil and to everybody that replied.

Yes, I saw the article in the Daily Mail.Left a big tip and bought everyone a drink as well. She was on tour with the Monster Ball tour. She was on Larry King on CNN and he mentioned it also. //www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1282831/Lady-Gaga-heads-pub-picks-tab-bar.html
