Hi, am new to this so hope that someone out there understands ...am researching my husbands family..Price. Many of the family have the prefix Windsor..variously spelt Winsor, Winser, although his father did not pass it on to him. His father , Arthur (1915) with various brothers and sisters most of whom seem to have had it at least for a part of their lives ..Victor, Walter, Frances, Jessie, Elsie, Gladys, Grace, Celia. Their father Walter c1875 spelt Winsor and his father William c1846 had it but not as far as I can ascertain their father another William c1800.
Does anyone have any links to us and ....how did this name come about? Would dearly love to know...thanks in advance for any help

I have a similar occurence with the siblings of my great great grandmother, their surnames was Richens but most had names Peart/Pearce in their name - Alfred Pearce Richens, Emma Pearce Richens and so on.

The reason in my case was that their father was illegitimate but after his birth his mother married a man named Thomas Peart/Pearce. Now I don't know if he named his children such to honour his step father or if he might actually have been his father.
