Photos From An Exile

Although I was born in Balsall Heath(Hick Street) my childhood was spent in
Cleeve Road Yardley Wood, in June 1957 my wife Enid and I were allocated a
"Overspill" house at Stretton Burton on Trent. It follows then, most of my photos
of Birmingham were taken after I retired in 1995, when we came over to Brum
quite regularlly. I have posted most of them before but since the "hacking" they
may not still be on the forum. Bernard.
All I have to do now is remember how to post the darn things!

If you are using coppermine, then this has happened to me also Bernard. It works once, then , a few minuted later won't work using the same procedure. that's why i now use photobucket

I don't think Bernard is using Coppermine he is using the forum upload attach method. One thing I notice is posts #9 #10 and #13 have no text. I just tried uploading an image with no text and it looked as if it was not going to do it. I am going to try it in the next post to see if I can copy what Bernard is doing.

Hi Bernard,
In your post #2 when I 'right click' on your Snow Hill image the box that appears gives info that it is an image (photo) . When I 'right click' on the 'attachment 73499' next to it, the box that appears shows that it is a link, it is not an image.
It is something to do with your uploading.
I'm thinking about this at the moment.

HI Mike, its really winding me up! I am not using Coppermine, but the old way I have used all along, tick on attachments, or the square(image) above the box.
Just cant understand it, one minute it works, next one it dont!Thought it might be
the size, just got me wacked, will go and lie down I think, Bernard. thanks Mo as well

One strange thing is when I look at post #16 on my other computer where I am not logged in I can see attachments are there. When I'm looking at post #16 on the computer that I am logged in I cannot see anything - it just looks like a blank post !
Very strange....

Hi Bernard - I don't think it is size. I've just been looking at your posts in a 'logged out' condition and can see some of your attachments which are not showing but have been viewed 26 times which leads me to think that the system is remembering attachments you posted before hacking. I've had some problems like that and had to slightly change the names of photos to get them to upload. I had to do this by taking them into a photo editor and then 'save-as' under a slightly different name.
I can see some of my old attachments which are not there but the system still thinks they are there.

Bernard, all the images you have successfully up-loaded appear in your posts the other images have not been up-loaded, either that or they have time expired, images up-loaded must be posted on the forum within one hour or the images will disappear.

Hi Bernard,
This is what I am seeing - your last post shows 1 pic, but the system is showing 3 attachments as seen in my second pic - I'm puzzled....oldmohawk
