hi all

interested in a family called Phelps who lived inTrimpley Street, bartley Green in the early 60's

well i am relative to a member of the phelps family but i don,t know whether these
are the same phelps you have can you give me any christian names
also i have another cousin whom is a member of the phelps family whom is also a member on this forum they might have abit more knowledge on them more than me
look foreward to hearing more from you if my cousin or me does not know

only have christian name of Susan, i think she would be about 60 now.

also has a twin sister but i don't know her name.:)
 
A relative of mine has Phelps in their family (through marriage),I e mailed them after reading your thread and they are asking family members to see if there is a connection.I understand some of his family lived in Weoley Castle.

Hi, I am a Phelps and this could possible be Susan and twin sister Sandra, there mother was Olive and father Leslie. Originally the Phelps family were from the Weoley Castle area but as there parents both died very young most moved all across the Birmingham area. Does this ring any bells?

this does sound like the family i was interested in, when you say, parents died young did you mean Susan and Sandra's parents.

this is a bit of a delicate search so difficult to say much on an open forum such as this, just wanted to know of the wherabouts of the family now.

Sandra & Susan's parents divorced in the 60's, not sure when as I knew them when I was very young, their Mum was Olive. One of the twins married an Italian and has lived their most of her life, I know she had 2 children.

Ancestry has the County as Yorkshire, i have sent them a message asking when did Brum move from Warwickshire to Yorkshire as i missed that LOL

thank you all so much for the info, have already learnt more than i knew a few weeks ago.

when i go on websites to try and search family background there are so many to choose from, never quite sure what to sign up to.

i rush home from work wondering if anyone else has anymore info for me, i know, i need to get out more!!!, but this is important to me, a paper search of my past is all i have to go on.

Hi Amandam

Family research is completely addictive and you can lose hours whilst doing it. I have reaserch on the Phelps going back to 1505 and have discovered family I never knew existed.
