Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P.
While I was sorting through some of the archive material, I came across this interesting compliment slip.
See who the Administrator was, our very own Peter Walker.:)

I couldn't agree more Di... Peter and his wife Barbara were two of the most friendly, giving, talented and all round genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and spend time with. You gave so much of yourselves to the people who knew you and left so much for the rest of us to enjoy... R.I.P both of you,

Chris I couldn't have put it better they were such a lovely couple. Jim that's a lovely find which only illustrates Peter's commitment to many organisations. Peter was such a quiet unasuming man but so talented in many fields. I will treasure the times we met. He came to many meets travelling up from his home near London. His 70th birthday in which he treated us to a trip on a vintage Birmingham bus to Wythall transport museum is a day I will always remember with such fondness. Some people leave an impact on your life for me Peter was one of those people.

i agree with all thats been said about peter...i still expect him to turn up at our meets ups with his little bag full of brum history....he is sorely missed...

Wendy I remember those photo's and wondered if you could post them again for us please?. I had not been a member for long at that time but remember it well. Jean.

A little more to add regarding Peter's contributions to The London Handel Society as reported in their Spring newsletter. A concert held at St.George's, Hanover Square last March was
dedicated to Peter's memory. https://www.london-handel-festival.com/ Peter was a man of many talents.

Peter was a lovely gentle man, He came down to Brighton on two occasions to see me in the Waggon and Horses, first to bring me copies of his maps, and on the second time just a social visit
bringing me a lovely book about Harbourne which he said he had two copies of, and thought I would like one.
He wouldn't even let me buy him lunch, but I did manage to get a few pints down him, sadly missed I'm sure, RIP Peter and Barbara.

john i experienced the same kindness off peter..i was telling him about the time time team dug up an ex boyfriends back garden some years back during the matthew boulton factory dig and he very kindly lent me a box set of dvd s which included this episode...unfortunately i didnt get to return it to him so i will now keep it as a momento...

I had the same experience as John, all he would accept was a pint (or two). A wonderful person, and one who could talk about anything, and make it interesting. If he had wanted to, I think he could have persuaded me football was interesting

I agree with everyone who have posted their memories of Peter, he was multi-talented but so modest and unassuming, he certainly made his mark and led a very full and interesting life. So sadly missed Peter and Barbara.
