This could be your family, 1901 Census transcribed wrongly as Peckman, and Arthur is shown as being Arthur S Peakman on the original. James Peakman was an insurance agent, born in Birmingham. Mary born in Ledbury, Worcestershire.

Name:Arthur Peckman Age:11
Estimated Birth Year:abt 1890
Relation:Son
Father's Name:James A
Mother's Name:Mary M

Where born:Bham, Worcestershire,

Arthur age 1

The children all born Birmingham.
I haven't found James yet. I will let you know if I find him.

Hi jaci, I think you could post in Genealogy and Family History, you can't ask for help, but it is always nice to read other peoples family stories.

One of my fathers Uncles was an agent for 'Artists' in the early part of the last century, in other words he booked acts, or 'turns' for the theatre. I have never found any records, and long ago lost touch with that part of the family. I know he was based in Lozells.

Hi Jaci,

Arthur Peakman was my Grandmother's brother. If you are still interested, I have a photograph of him. I have also found him in the 1911 Census and have done some work on his career through The Stage Archive. Dorothy remains a mystery - do you have any more information on her?
