Payne Family

Hi,
three generations of my family (Payne) were involved with engineering / brass foundry work. Whilst researching my family history I was told by my aunt that her grandfather Alfred Payne owned a Brass Foundry? unfortunately she could not remember the name of the company.
Best Regards Rob

Hi Rob

That sounds interesting - I have not got my family tree details to hand but I am pretty sure I have an Alfred in there .... do you have your tree on Genes or do you have any wife/husband relationships where you can give me some names to see if we have a match? I would be interested to see if you have anything to add to my tree, and of course I will share my details with you in return if required ... my Payne's were mainly from Edgbaston, Yardley and Small Heath areas. Thanks, Jo

Payne Family

Hi Jo,
Yes I do have a tree on the Genes site, here are some of my descendants:-

Alfred Payne c1841 - Eliza c1841
Alfred James Payne b1873 - Emily Eunice Day b1874
Albert Edward Payne b1902 - Margaret Barker b1905

Best Regards Rob

My science teacher at Peckham Road school in the late 1940s was Frank H. Payne. He lived near Sutton Park, Banners Gate, E.

Frank H Payne

Hi Eric

I have a Frank H Payne in my family tree - born approx 1871 so he would have been in his 70's in the 1940's - unless it could have been a descendent of his maybe, thanks for your reply. Joanne

Thanks

Thanks Eric for the photo. I am yet to look into that part of the famly (Frank would have been the brother of my immediate family line) so I will keep this for future reference and when I get to that part and can verify ages I am sure this will be of great use. Many thanks for getting in touch - i'll let you know if this ties in eventually! Jo
