Does anyone have any info about the Paynes especially after 1911?
My dads family all lived round here, his grandad was Albert Payne a gun machinist, married to Margaret (Maggie) Reddy and his dad was Andrew their 2nd son. We know all about Albert and Maggies family as my dad was brought up by them, but we know nothing about Alberts brothers and sisters - he was one of6 and his brother William lived close to him, another brother, Henry lived in Garrison Lane, howvere we only know about these from family tree research they were never mentioned while my dad was growing up and until I did the tree research he thought he was the last of the family, so if anyone on the site knows about the other Paynes and why the family fell out, we would love to know. Also there was talk of one of the family moving to America but I can't trace that, except I think Albert and Maggie married in New Hampshire in 1893/4 - waiting for the certificate to see if that sheds any light on it!
