Would love to find the children or grandchildren of Polly Parsons nee Ford who was my grandmothers sister.
The children were Tom, Betty, Billy, Floss, Laura, Ted & Maud.
Maud was known to be a Jehovah's witness(I think)...last known address was Lewis St great bridge. I have some lovely photo's of their Ancestors and would be interested in exchanging family history and genealogy notes with any one who has an interest.

Polly Ford

Hi Joy,

My great grandad Thomas Ford (b. Handsworth 1872) had a very much younger sister called Polly (real name Mary Ann) who was born in Handsworth towards the end of 1887, but I'm sorry to say that I have no further information on her.

Let me know if this is she is your Polly Parsons - I'd be very interested to hear about this branch of the family. What was your grandmother's name? - Thomas's 11 siblings were born between 1861 and 1890! The younger sisters included a Parthena (?c. 1882), a Fanny (?1883) a Kate (Catherine c.?1886), all born in Handsworth

Thanks

Deb

G'day Debbie, I'm intrigued. My great grandfather was also a Thomas Ford, but he was from West Bromwich born 1856. His father was Reuben Ford. Let me know if you think there's a match.
Best regards Joy

Dear Joy,

Good to hear from you - no, My great g'dad's father was John, born in Stourbridge in 1840-ish. John had lots of siblings, but no Reuben I'm afraid.

Several of the men of the family were iron puddlers.

Be aware that at certain periods of time, Handsworth was part of sub-district of West Bromwich - all my Ford family births in 19th century are registered as 'West Bromwich', but they were actually born in Handsworth -
see https:// freebmd.rootsweb.com for such info

Hi Everyone

Have any of you got a John Thomas Ford who married Fanny Reeves and lived in a pub in Old Church Road, Smethwick showing on the 1911 census. I am looking for Fannies mother Matilda Reeves nee Dawe. Fanny and John had a daughter Hilda who was 2 in 1911.

Would love any information.

Chris
